Applied Physical Sciences is headquarted in Groton, CT, with additional offices in Lexington, MA and Arlington, VA.
The Groton headquarters consists of a 12,000 sq ft space equipped with offices, a conference room, and 1000 sq ft of laboratory space. The APS laboratory facilities include areas for sensor testing and calibration, experimentation, and component fabrication. General test equipment includes multi-channel dynamic signal analyzers, a precision impedance analyzer, 24-channel/24-bit and 16-channel / 16-bit data acquisition systems, 1MHz 16-bit A/D and D/A data acquisition card, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and amplifiers. The laboratories contain a variety of water-filled standing wave tubes for use in diagnostic testing and calibration of underwater acoustic sensors, and include a custom designed facility for measuring the electronic noise floor of acoustic transducers. APS computer systems include high end personal computers and a Linux/Windows computing cluster of dual-core nodes, on a local area network (LAN) connected with firewall protection to the internet. APS has a suite of in-house generated software for performing physical simulations, analysis, and processing through a range of disciplines.
